Interfaith In Action

Spiritual Life Programming

Part of the Emory University Chaplaincy, the Emory Inter[1]faith Center offers a variety of programs to nurture spiritual practice and growth for the Emory community. They include the regular worship and meditation opportunities listed below, as well as holiday celebrations, scripture studies, retreats, arts programs, service projects, and more. We also offer weddings, memorial services, vigil support, and pastoral care.

  • Beloved Community Worship

A weekly ecumenical Protestant service in Emory’s Methodist heritage that emphasizes inclusivity and community. Many other Protestant communities also offer small and large group meetings.

• Hindu Aarti
• Buddhist Meditation
• Muslim Jumu’ah Prayer
• Jewish Shabbat Services
• Catholic Mass

Some of these services are connected with Religious Life Affiliates or undergraduate or graduate/professional student organizations affiliated with the University Chaplaincy.

Interfaith Programming

A cornerstone of the center’s mission is to promote inter[1]faith understanding through diverse programs:

  • WISE Interfaith Pre-Orientation Program

Introduces incoming students to Emory’s spiritual life resources and interfaith community and encourages religious literacy and interfaith leadership.

  • Inter-Religious Council (IRC)

Facilitates dialogue and collaboration among student leaders from diverse faith communities.

  • Journeys of Reconciliation

Offers trips and experiences that explore peace and justice issues through an interfaith lens.

  • Interfaith Speaker Series

Features speakers from various religious and philosophical backgrounds discussing themes relevant to multiple traditions, aiming to advance thoughtful interfaith learning and engagement within the university community.

  • Interfaith Week

Organized by different religious and philosophical communities on campus, these events and dinners build interreligious awareness, community, and solidarity.
