Dean and Multifaith Team
The Emory Interfaith Center’s dean and a dedicated team of chaplains and staff represent major faith traditions present at Emory, including Hinduism, Buddhism, Judaism, Christianity, Islam, and more. This multifaith team provides spiritual leadership, pastoral care, and educational programming in order to meet the diverse needs of the Emory community.
The center’s dean, The Rev. Dr. Gregory W. McGonigle, is an ordained minister, chaplain, teacher, and author, and an internationally recognized leader in the field of interfaith leadership. He has served for over 20 years in higher education chaplaincy, and has also served in congregational, healthcare, public health, and legal advocacy settings. He is a former researcher at the Harvard Pluralism Project and past president of the National Association of College and University Chaplains (NACUC), and he currently serves as secretary of the International Association of Chaplains in Higher Education (IACHE).
